Building in London
Be Lean, Be Clean, Be Green

If you are developing in a London Borough the London Plan will apply to you. Depending on the size of your development and its location different targets will apply. E & S Bristol can support you to ensure your project progresses through the planning application process smoothly.

London's Response To Climate Change

The Mayors vision is "for London to be the greenest of all global cities". Buildings play an important role in this target and as such must comply with the targets and requirements set out in Chapter 5 of the London Plan.

The London Plan is the statutory spatial development strategy for the Greater London area in the United Kingdom that is written by the Mayor of London and published by the Greater London Authority, the latest version was released in March 2016, with the most recent update on London Plan Energy Assessment Guidance being released in October 2018.

The most important section to builders and developers is Chapter 5: London's Response to Climate change. This sets out the rigorous steps and targets that must be taken and met to achieve the ambitious zero carbon city by 2050.
